Estrogen replacement therapy after localized breast cancer: clinical outcome of 319 women followed prospectively.
PURPOSE To determine whether estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) alters the development of new or recurrent breast cancer in women previously treated for localized breast cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS Potential participants (n = 319) in a trial of ERT after breast cancer were observed prospectively for at least 2 years whether they enrolled onto the randomized trial or not. Of 319 women, 39 wer...
متن کاملTopological Groups with Several Disconnectedness
We investigate some properties of topological groups related to disconnectedness or Archimedeanness. We prove or disprove the preservation of those under operations as subgroups, quotients, products, etc. Characterizations of non-Archimedeanness are obtained by using embedding into universal groups. We also clarify the differences between the properties by constructing miscellaneous Polish groups.
متن کاملDaughters’ lived experience of mother's cancer
Growing cancer in these decades and its effects on all aspects of a patientchr('39')s life causes more research on this illness. Research indicates the incidence of life-threatening illnesses especially in parents makes troubles in family memberchr('39')s life especially in childrenchr('39')s life. Considering the importance of the role of mothers on their childrenchr('39')s conditions with emp...
متن کاملHurwitz groups as monodromy groups of dessins: several examples
We present a number of examples to illustrate the use of small quotient dessins as substitutes for their often much larger and more complicated Galois (minimal regular) covers. In doing so we employ several useful group-theoretic techniques, such as the Frobenius character formula for counting triples in a finite group, pointing out some common traps and misconceptions associated with them. Alt...
متن کاملSafety of artemisinins in first trimester of prospectively followed pregnancies: an observational study
BACKGROUND Artemisinins, the most effective antimalarials available, are not recommended for falciparum malaria during the first trimester of pregnancy because of safety concerns. Therefore, quinine is used despite its poor effectiveness. Assessing artemisinin safety requires weighing the risks of malaria and its treatment. We aimed to assess the effect of first-trimester malaria and artemisini...
